Photonic and TELUS Achieve World-First Quantum Communications Milestone

Photonic Inc. has expanded its partnership with TELUS, achieving a world-first milestone by successfully teleporting quantum information over 30 km of TELUS’ existing PureFibre network. Using its Entanglement First™ architecture, Photonic transferred quantum information into a matter-based processor capable of storing and processing the data, an important step toward building long-distance quantum networks and commercial-scale quantum computers. The breakthrough demonstrates that today’s telecommunications infrastructure can support ultra-secure, next-generation quantum communications and strengthens Canada’s leadership in the field.
